Kenyan SMEs now have a dedicated tool to separate business and personal finances, as Airtel Money launches its new Bizna Wallet.
Kenya’s small and medium sized enterprises are rapidly embracing digital payments. According to the Mastercard SME Confidence Index, 95 per cent of SMEs now accept mobile payments, reflecting growing demand for financial services that go beyond simply receiving money.
Yet many entrepreneurs still rely on personal wallets to run their businesses, making it hard to track sales, manage cash flow or keep clear financial records. Bizna Wallet has been developed to close that gap, giving business owners a dedicated platform to manage cash flow, monitor performance and strengthen confidence in digital transactions.
Speaking during the launch, Airtel Money Kenya Acting Managing Director, Michael Bonke, said the product was designed to solve the everyday financial management challenges facing Kenya’s small business sector.
“Small businesses are at the heart of Kenya’s economy, yet many entrepreneurs still rely on personal wallets to manage business finances,” said Bonke.

He explained that Bizna Wallet is built for kiosk owners, market traders, boda boda riders, matatu operators and other micro businesses, letting them separate business income from personal finances, monitor daily sales, access mini statements, receive payments across mobile money networks and guard against unauthorised reversals, giving entrepreneurs greater visibility over their cash flow and more stable operations.
Airtel Money’s goal, he added, is to make digital financial services more efficient, accessible and rewarding.
For business owners, the wallet also comes with added financial incentives. Airtel Money has expanded its Rudishiwa cashback programme to benefit both businesses and individual customers, now offering 50 per cent cashback on eligible transactions, including paybill payments, transfers to other mobile money networks, bank to wallet transfers and wallet to bank transactions.
The cashback runs alongside Bizna Wallet with no separate sign up required. It is available to all registered Airtel Money customers who complete qualifying transactions of Ksh 101 or more, with no opt in needed.
Rewards are credited instantly as cash into a dedicated Cashback Wallet, accessible through the My Airtel App and the 334# USSD platform, from where customers can move funds into their main Airtel Money wallet.
For SMEs already navigating tight margins, the combination of a dedicated business wallet and cash rewards on everyday transactions could offer a practical way to formalise how they track and grow their businesses.
