- The new CEO brings more than a decade of financial sector experience
- A new finance manager also joins the Sacco’s leadership team
The Board of Ufanisi Deposit-Taking (DT) Sacco Limited has appointed CPA Samuel Ndoo Mutunga as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), in a move aimed at strengthening the institution’s leadership and the services it offers to members. Mutunga was picked after a competitive recruitment process.
CPA Mutunga brings more than 14 years of progressive experience in the development finance sector. His expertise spans financial analysis, audit and quality assurance, enterprise risk management and credit management. He is also skilled in portfolio quality optimisation and human capital management, and has led teams drawn from different departments.

Academically, he holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, both from the University of Nairobi. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, CPA(K).
In his new role, Mutunga will handle daily management decisions and provide strategic leadership. He will also oversee operations and financial stewardship. According to the Board, the position is meant to ensure sustainable growth, regulatory compliance and innovation, while raising the value members get from the Sacco.

Alongside the CEO, the Board has appointed CPA Jelagat Kiprotich as Finance Manager. She arrives with more than 13 years of experience in the cooperative movement. She previously worked at Skyline DT Sacco Limited and Kimisitu DT Sacco Limited. Her strengths lie in financial management, risk management and compliance, and she is keen on driving operational efficiency and business growth.
Kiprotich holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Makerere University. Besides being a CPA(K), she is a finalist for the Certified Investment Financial Analyst (CIFA) qualification. She is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
