Wananchi Sacco has installed a mobile banking platform in some of its branches as a precursor to rolling out to all other branches soon. The Sacco chairman, Wambugu Kagondu said they plan to also roll out a digital platform in a bid to woo youth.
Kagondu was speaking at Nyamachaki PCEA Hall in Nyeri town recently during this year’s Annual General Meeting.
“We would like to copy other financial institutions that have moved to digital platforms to take advantage of other sources of income like M-Pesa Paybill number, Bulk payments and selling of M-Pesa float,” he added.
