Malindi and Magarini sub-counties in Kilifi County have 108 registered Cooperative Societies with a combined membership of 27,381, Sacco Review has learnt.
Speaking in her office in Malindi town recently, Malindi and Magarini Sub-county Cooperative Officer Mrs. Felister Moraa Ziro those Societies have a total assets base of Ksh425,267,776 and a turnover of Ksh90,639,488.
At the same time, the Cooperative officer urged Saccos in the two sub-counties to adopt Information Communication Technology (ICT) for efficiency in service delivery to members and the general public.
Mrs. Moraa asked Saccos to ensure good leadership and governance to retain their members.
The Cooperative officer also urged members to borrow loans wisely and repay promptly so as to enable others to benefit.
