Kakamega County to set up tea factory to boost production

Kakamega county Deputy Governor Ayub Savula has disclosed that the county will put up a tea factory in Shinyalu in line with their campaign manifesto.

Speaking in an open forum on Public Private Dialogue (PPD), the deputy governor said the tea factory will help improve the livelihoods of farmers in the region.

PPD aims to empower the youth to earn a living  and come up with resolutions to support access to finance.

Fredrick Ang’ienda, a board member of champions of Bio- economic and Agriculture strategy, said PPD brings on board stakeholders and partners who are main contributors in the growth of Agri- business in Western region.

Ang’ienda lauded the county government for supporting access to finance.
