County Government of Uasin Gishu has distributed 60,000 coffee seedlings to farmers across all six wards in Kapseret Sub-County Megun, Ngeria, Racecourse, Langas, Kipkenyo, and Simat/Kapseret.
Governor Jonathan Bii, who was joined by his Nandi Counterpart Sang’, said the county has also disbursed Ksh 12 million to five SACCOs and farmers groups.
Bii who was speaking during seedlings distribution exercise said the funds will support capacity-building efforts, improve access to farm inputs, and strengthen the local coffee value chain.
The beneficiaries includes Kipkenyo Kisor, Tuiyo Kormaet, Megun, and Racecourse SACCOs, as well as the Tuiyo Farmers’ Cooperative Society.

He stated that the funds will facilitate better organization, increased access to markets, and higher value for the coffee produce.
According to the governor, the seedlings distribution initiative is part of a broader county strategy aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, boosting farmer incomes, and positioning Nandi as a key player in the country’s coffee sector.
The National government is also supporting farmers through Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund (CCARF), the fund was established to provide affordable, sustainable and accessible cherry advance to small holder coffee farmers in Kenya.
