The National Ushirika Day Celebrations council through the chairman Macloud Malonza has announced a change of venue for their upcoming festivities. Originally scheduled to take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), the celebrations will now be held at Uhuru Park Grounds on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
This crucial update was communicated through a letter signed by Macloud Malonza, Chairman of the National Ushirika Day Celebrations Council, and directed to All Co-operative Societies and Unions, yesterday July 9. The adjustment aims to accommodate the scale and nature of the highly anticipated annual event.
The day’s events are set to kick off promptly at 9:00 a.m. This year’s, festivities will resonate with a global theme provided by the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA): “Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World.” This theme underscores the vital role co-operatives play in fostering equitable development and sustainable practices across various sectors of the economy.

According to the letter, key highlights of the National Ushirika Day will be a grand procession, which is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. Participants will gather at the Kenya Planters Co-operative Union Ltd (KPCU) Headquarters at Wakulima House, Haile Selassie Avenue, before proceeding towards Uhuru Park Grounds..
Beyond the main ceremony, Uhuru Park Grounds will also host a series of dynamic exhibitions. These displays, open on both the 11th and 12th of July 2025, will feature various co-operative societies. Participation in these exhibitions is contingent upon confirmation and the completion of the required payment.
The National Council for Ushirika Day Celebrations has extended a cordial invitation to all co-operative societies and unions to participate actively in these national celebrations.
The council emphasizes that the presence and participation of all stakeholders will be a great honor, significantly contributing to the success of the event and helping to showcase the strength and unity of the co-operative movement across Kenya.
