The Migori County Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Development has issued an urgent call for applications from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) clusters seeking co-investment support under the Kenya Jobs and Economic Transformation (KJET) Project.
With less than 2 weeks left before the December 31 deadline, the department is urging cooperatives, associations, self-help groups, community-based organizations and cluster-based entities engaged in value addition to seize the opportunity.
The five-year KJET initiative, funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSME Development in partnership with the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority, aims to boost productivity, expand market access and attract private sector investment.

The project is aligned with the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and prioritizes clusters operating in key agricultural and industrial value chains.
Eligible organizations stand to benefit from tailored Business Development Services (BDS) training and co-investment support to acquire value addition machinery, with the government covering up to 70% of the cost up to a maximum of KSh 20 million.
The support is designed to help MSMEs scale operations, improve product quality and strengthen their competitiveness in domestic and export markets.
Migori officials are encouraging widespread circulation of the opportunity to ensure no eligible group is left behind.
The department emphasized that ventures involved in sectors such as edible oils, dairy, coffee, tea, leather, rice, textiles, construction materials and the blue economy are especially encouraged to apply.
However, exceptional business ventures in other sectors may also be considered based on strategic alignment and potential impact.
