The County Government of Kisumu has pledged support for Keystone Deposit-Taking Savings and Credit Co-operative (DT SACCO) in order to ensure its sustained growth.
This was said by the County chief officer in charge of education, Bovince Ochieng, who lauded the SACCO for its steady growth over the years.
Ochieng who spoke during the society’s annual general meeting where he was the chief guest, promised to ensure that newly employed Early Childhood and Development Education (ECDE) teachers join the organization.
He urged Kisumu County residents to support the society as it is the only indigenous one still surviving, saying that more people should invest there in order to make it more prosperous
He also pledges to encourage his colleagues to join the SACCO.
The chairman Joshua Aluanda revealed that the society was able to grow its asset base from Ks1.44 billion in 2024 to Ksh1.7 billion in 2025, while loans to members increased from Ksh930 million in 2024 to Ksh1.1 billion in 2025 resulting in an increase of Ksh170 million.

He added that members deposit grew from Ksh753 million in 2024 to Ksh820 million in 2025 expressing an increase of Ksh67 million.
“Membership grew from 9634 in 2024 to 10,890 in 2025. It was an impressive growth which shows that the SACCO is headed in the right direction.” He noted
The chairman also noted that the share capital increased from Ksh56 million in 2024 to Ksh74 million in 2025 representing an increase of Ksh18 million.
He encouraged members to continue saving with the society and repaying loans.
The SACCO Chief Executive Officer Allan Kawa said they have grown in leaps and bounds noting that the only hope of Kisumu residents is in the society.
Kawa said they have opened more satellite offices in Hama Bay,Migori and Siaya which he noted are doing quite well.
