Nairobi-based Sacco seeks business development officer

  • Nairobi Sacco seeks officer to drive membership and deposit growth.

A non-withdrawable deposit-taking Sacco based in Nairobi has advertised for a Business Development Officer to drive membership growth, deposit mobilisation and marketing initiatives.

The recruitment is being handled by Co-op Consultancy Intermediary Limited (CBI), under reference CBI/BDO/08/26. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer(CEO).

Key duties include strengthening relationships with existing members, pursuing partnerships to expand the Sacco’s membership base, and conducting market research to identify growth opportunities.

The officer will also work with colleagues to grow the loan book and deposits, run digital and traditional marketing campaigns, and design annual member education programmes with the CEO and Board committees.

Applicants require a diploma in marketing, communications or a related field, with a bachelor’s degree and professional qualification considered an advantage. Candidates must have at least three years of experience in marketing and business development within the Sacco or wider financial services sector.

The role also calls for strong communication skills, a results-oriented mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

Interested applicants can apply through an online form by August 27, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by September 11, 2026.
