  • Kirima Dairy Co-operative Society will pay farmers between Ksh56 and Ksh58 per litre of milk delivered from November 1, 2026.
  • The payment rate will depend on the delivery point, with cooling centre deliveries attracting the highest price.
  • The society says the new rates reflect its commitment to rewarding farmers and ensuring timely payments.

Dairy farmers supplying Kirima Dairy Co-operative Society Limited will be paid between Ksh56 and Ksh58 for every litre of milk delivered from November 1, 2026, according to a notice the society has issued to its members.

The rate depends on where the milk is handed over. Farmers whose milk is collected from their farms will earn Ksh56 a litre. Those who deliver to the society’s collection centres will receive Ksh57, while milk taken to the cooling centres will fetch the highest rate of Ksh58. The Ksh2 gap between farm collection and cooling centre delivery reflects the cost of transport and handling that the society saves when farmers bring their milk closer to the processing chain.

In the notice addressed to farmers, the society said it remains committed to rewarding their work by offering the best prices possible while ensuring timely payments. It closed with a message of thanks, saying it was building a stronger dairy future together with its members.

Kirima Dairy, formally Kirima Slopes Dairy Co-operative Society Limited, based in Kerugoya, has been operating since 2013 and is the producer of Nata Fresh

The price announcement matters to farmers who plan their household budgets around monthly milk earnings, and the three-tier structure gives them a clear incentive to choose the delivery option that best suits their circumstances.
