Safaricom Sacco boss quits after seven years

Safaricom Sacco Chief Executive Officer Dr George Ochiri (pictured) has resigned.
In a notice to members signed by Sacco Chairman Collins Ogutu and Vice-chairlady Josephine Ndambuki, Mrs Cynthia Naisisiae has been appointed the acting CEO.
Naisisiae has been Safaricom Sacco’s General Manager.
Ochiri had served the Sacco for seven years growing it from tier three category to a tier one Sacco with an asset base of Sh5.3 billion from an asset base of Sh600 million.
“He also propelled the Sacco to the top awards by Ushirika council, SASRA and Champions of Governance (COG) among others,” said the board of directors.
The Sacco board also commended him for growing Sacco members to over 11,000.
