Trans Nzoia reshuffle puts Mutama in charge of trade

  • Governor George Natembeya reshuffles 11 CECMs and chief officers in Trans Nzoia.
  • Janerose Mutama moves from Education to take charge of the Trade docket.
  • Changes also affect key departments, including Finance, Health, Lands and Agriculture.

Janerose Mutama is the new County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Trade in Trans Nzoia, after Governor George Natembeya reshuffled 11 CECMs and chief officers. She moves from the Education docket, and Patrick Gacheru, who previously ran Trade, swaps places with her to take over Education.

County Secretary Truphosa Amere communicated the changes, which touch the Lands and Agriculture departments as well.

In Lands, Dr Judith Simiyu has arrived as chief officer, transferred from Health. She takes the place of Martin Bunyasi, who has left Lands for Governance, where he replaces Chepkole Yano.

Yano has not lost his position. He has moved to Agriculture as chief officer, a department that Engineer Charles Barasa held only briefly before the reshuffle. Barasa has now been posted to Health as chief officer.

Elsewhere, Robert Wamalwa has taken over Finance after several months at Water and Environment, while Dr Pepela Wanjala, the previous Finance CECM, now heads Health. Those moves sit alongside the changes in Trade, Lands and Agriculture, which together reshape the county’s economic and land portfolios.
