Forward Travellers Sacco, which operates in Eastlands, Nairobi is inviting applications for the positions of Internal Auditor and Accountant.

The Sacco wishes to strengthen the human resource capacity. It seeks qualified, competent and experienced candidate with excellent credentials.

Some of the required qualifications for an accountant include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance or any related fields, must be below 42 years of age, three years’ experience, ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.

The Internal Auditor will also be required to have the same qualifications and also hold an internal audit practitioner designation achieved within the last three years and have at least three years internal audit experience.

Some of the accountant’s roles will be financial record keeping and reporting, budget preparation and financial forecasting, payroll management, tax compliance and analysing financial data. He or she will also manage accounts receivable (customer payments) and accounts payable (vendor payments) and collaborate with auditors during external audits.

The internal Auditor will be tasked with reviewing financial statements, ensuring that the Sacco complies with existing rules and regulations, reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of resource utilisation and maintaining audit files. He or she will also assist the Board of Directors in governance by advising on various issues, assessing and mitigating risks and institute fraud detection measures.

Forward Travellers Sacco is a medium sized organization was established in 2010 and operates in the transport sector, mainly dealing in Public Service Vehicles (PSV) buses which are distinctive due to their old-school “body box” design and a unique blend of yellow and green paint.

The Sacco currently has about 300 members and owns a fleet of around 370 vehicles.
