County Governor James Ongwae has lauded Kisii Youth Bunge Sacco for being the best managed among youths’ saccos in the country. Ongwae was speaking at Kisii Sports Club during presentation of Best Performance Certificate to the Sacco chairperson. The Governor was informed that the giant youth owned Sacco plays a key role in boosting the economy by supporting small scale business operators.
He noted that the Sacco has a total capital base of more than Sh40 million and has advanced soft loans to more than 350,000 youths in the county. In his recent meeting dubbed Kikao 45 with the youth at Kisii Stadium, the Governor encouraged the youths to embrace the saving culture. According to the Sacco Chairperson Asha Moronya, Kisii County Youth Bunge Sacco is a financial wing of Kisii County Youth Development Forum that was formed in 2012.
Sacco Manager Evans Makori commended his chairman for able leadership of the sacco that has seen it recruit members in all sub counties in Kisii County.
The sacco has an executive team led by Asha Moronya, Christine Ombasa, Clive Omosa and Lilian Sosi, the chairman, vice chairman honorary secretary and treasurer respectively.
