Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) Limited announced that one of its clients; a fast growing Sacco which has its head office in Embu Town is looking to hire a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
It is searching for a qualified, highly motivated, visionary, result oriented individual to fill the position. The CEO shall responsible to the Board of Directors for the day to day operations among others including its financial strength, regulatory compliance, operating policies and procedures – budgets, incomes and expenses and personnel requirements, strategic and operational plans such as products development and promotions.
He or she will also be responsible for promoting and maintaining good stakeholders’ relationship with the Sacco.
Some of the roles and the responsibilities include ensuring that the affairs of the Sacco are managed in a competent manner, developing society budgets within the statutory deadline so that society operations are fully discharged to meet stakeholders’ expectations, analyzing progress reports from departmental and sectional managers and disseminate the periodic reports on the performance of the society to the Board of Directors and other interested parties and developing high quality products and efficient services which are value-adding to clients so as to enhance market share and revenue command of the Sacco.
Also, the successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing the society operations and ensuring that they are within the legal framework of the prevailing laws, by-laws, policies, procedures and rules, providing support to the Board of Directors by organising all Board and Board Committee meetings, Annual and Special General Meetings and Supervisory meetings as and when required, recommending to the Board of Directors appointment of such staff as the budget permits. Furthermore, he/she shall be responsible for training, assignment and supervision of other Sacco staff, subject to instructions of the Board of Directors.

Any interested candidate should check whether they have the necessary educational requirements and experience, that is, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelors in Business Administration or Cooperative Management or recognized equivalent and minimum of five years’ experience at Managerial level in Co-operatives or Micro Finance.
They should also be a member in good standing in any of the following professional bodies; IHRM, ICS, KISM, CIM and ICPAK.
The candidate should also have the necessary skills and knowledge including, a good grasp of the co-operative movement and demonstrable experience in FOSA operations, good administrative and public relations skills, decisive and approachable, be very good in written and verbal communication skills, good command of the English and Kiswahili language and be honest, intelligible, resourceful and possess unquestionable integrity.
