Pastors in Nakuru have come together to establish Mitume Sacco to help them save money and access affordable credit facilities, ultimately improving their livelihoods.
Pastor Alex Maina, the Sacco chairman and the chair of Nakuru Pastors Fellowship, encouraged pastors and clergy members to join the Sacco to enhance their economic status.
“We understand the difficulties that pastors and their families encounter hence the need to unite and find ways to overcome our common problems,” Pastor Maina stated.
He further emphasized that the interdenominational Sacco aims to empower clergy members, elders, and leaders financially by providing them with affordable facilities to enhance their livelihoods.
According to the chair, the Sacco offers a wide range of innovative products designed to meet holistic financial needs and support the prosperity of God’s servants without relying on others within the church.
“We provide comprehensive and innovative financial solutions, including health and medical coverage. These solutions become accessible after saving a minimum of Ksh1, 000.00 per month for six months,” he added.
The Sacco, which envisions transforming pastors and their families across Africa, recently celebrated its first anniversary. During the event, members were issued share certificates, symbolizing their ownership and commitment to the cooperative.
