Ruto urges Nyanza youth to engage in any profitable business as 3,500 benefit from NYOTA funds

President William Ruto has asked youth to use the knowledge they acquired at any level of their education to engage in any profitable business that can enable them put food on the table for themselves and their families.

“Even for those who did not complete primary school education it is not their mistake but we have to give them the opportunity by training them how to improve their lives,” said President Ruto.

The President was addressing the public on Thursday at Gusii during the launch of NYOTA business fund that will enable the youth to boost or start their own business and rely on themselves.

 

He told the youth to embrace saving culture which help them increase their wealth instead of spending the little cash they get in gambling and buying illicit beer that ruin their lives.

He said that since he came to power, Kenya has secured 500,000 job placements of the youth in the affordable housing programme and earn money directly to help themselves, encouraging them to be ambassadors of peace in the country for its continued prosperity.

During the meeting President Ruto released Cash to reach more than 3500 youth who were beneficiaries from Kisii, Nyamira and Migori Counties saying that each of them will receive Ksh 25,000 in phase one and will receive second phase of the money to makes total of Ksh50,000 for each of them.

He told them to use the knowledge they received during the recent four days short course training to become good entrepreneurs

The President was flanked by his deputy Prof Kithure Kindiki, Kisii County Governor Simba Arati, Governor Amos Nyaribo, Education CS Julius Ogamba among other MPs and MCA’s from the region.
