Sacco members demonstrate in Kiserian over relocation of offices

Members of a youth Sacco in Kiserian have protested over a move by the officials to relocate the Saccos’s offices.
The National Youth Service Sacco members, who demonstrated in the streets of Kiserian, stormed the new offices located at Baraka Business Centre and demanded that the officials refund their money.
They accused the officials of withholding their payments for three months now.
Holding placards and twigs, the youth chanted the now famous slogan ‘Haki yetu, pesa zetu’ and demanded that the account be closed and their money be refunded to them.
“We want the account to be closed first so that we sit down and discuss. If the Sacco is dying, everybody would have had their money back,’’ said one of the members.
“There is nothing we can do though, I am the chairman. We cannot access the account without the Sub-county Co-operative officer,’’ said the Sacco chairman.
