South Nyanza Teachers (Sonyaco) Sacco plans to open a common bond to attract membership from other professionals to strengthen the society.
Those targeted include the Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) teachers employed by Homa Bay County Government.
Others earmarked for the exercise include Homa Bay County Government employees.
Sonyaco Board chair, Roscheus Otete said that once the Sacco opens a common bond the business community will be abled to join it and help it mobilize savings and acquire credit facilities..
“Our current membership is about 500 up from 280 when I joined six years ago. My main aim is to hit about 1,000 before year end,” stated Otete.
