Sotico Sacco’s initiative brightens members’ lives

Sotico Sacco in Chebilat has brightened members’ lives by advancing loans to parents to venture into businesses as well as pay school fees for their children.
The Sacco’s Chief Executive Officer, Everline Moraa, during her school days used to receive loans through her parents to pay school fees.
This support saw her grow up confident and strong-willed. She believes no work is too difficult for a woman to accomplish.
Today at 37, Moraa has ensured that the Sacco enjoys success in all fronts having overcome challenges that had earlier threatened its stability. “I really wanted to serve my community. That is the reason I left an NGO where I was getting better pay to come and work at Sotico Sacco.,” recalls Moraa. The Sacco has 15,000 members.
She says the Sacco is in the process of rebranding as it plans to expand in all Bomet’s towns and beyond. Besides its headquarters office in Mogogosiek, the Sacco has other four pay points across the Sub-County. – Kiptanui Rutto
