Young people in Taita Taveta County have been urged to join Saccos in large numbers to boost their economic status. Taita Taveta County Cooperative Commissioner, Andrew Mbinga said the only secret to fighting poverty is by joining Saccos in large numbers.
He urged the youth to join Saccos and get loans to better their livelihoods. Mbinga said one out of two Kenyans in the country is in one way or another directly,or indirectly associated with the Cooperative enterprises. This Movement is therefore engaged in a wide range of activities which today contributes billions of shillings tothe Kenyan economy every year.
Mbinga said the Cooperative Movement plays an important role in the country in uplifting the living standards of the locals.
