- U&M Housing says it is separate from KUSCCO liquidation
- Society changed its name to distance itself from KUSCCO
- Members assured operations and services remain unaffected
You and Me Housing Co-operative Society Ltd (U&M Housing) has moved to reassure its members that it has no link to the ongoing liquidation of the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operative (KUSCCO Ltd).
In a public statement, the Board of Directors and Management said U&M Housing is an independent primary co-operative society, registered on December 19, 2019, under Certificate of Registration No. CS/24717 with the Commissioner for Co-operative Development.
Two distinct entities
The statement clarified that KUSCCO Ltd was registered separately on September 27, 1973, under registration number CS/2171. It said the two entities have separate membership, governance structures and operations.
U&M Housing previously operated under the name KUSCCO Housing Co-operative Society Ltd, but maintained its own legal identity, membership, governance and operations throughout.

The society changed its name and rebranded following a resolution passed by members at a Special General Meeting held in September 2025. It said the decision was informed by the need to establish a distinct identity and strengthen its reputation, particularly in view of the negative publicity associated with the former name.
U&M Housing emphasised that the recent public notice concerning KUSCCO Ltd’s liquidation does not relate to or affect its operations or services in any way.
Members reassured of normal operations
The Board assured members and stakeholders that U&M Housing is fully operational and continues to serve its members without interruption.
The society operates from its head office at Signature Mall, 3rd floor, along Mombasa Road, alongside branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Embu, Nakuru, Kakamega and Kisumu.
