Unga Sacco Society Limited will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebration on Saturday, November 7, 2026, honouring five decades of service to its members. The event will be held at Verona Hotel from 5:00 PM.

Established in 1976, the Sacco began as an employer-based cooperative. Its purpose was to provide reliable and affordable financial solutions to workers within the Unga Group manufacturing ecosystem. Over the decades, it transitioned into an open bond cooperative, welcoming small business owners, self-employed individuals and members of the public.

Today, Unga Sacco is regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) and has an asset base of more than Ksh243 million. It has grown from a simple workplace savings pool into a fully recognised financial co-operative, earning national accolades for efficiency and capitalisation. Its growth mirrors the broader expansion of Kenya’s Sacco sector.

Under the theme “50 Years of Saving, Growing and Excelling Together,” the Sacco has invited members to join it in celebrating the milestone. Its tagline, “Save to Excel,” has guided its work over the years. Popular entertainer MC Xtian has been lined up to host the evening.

Members and guests are expected to look back on the Sacco’s journey and the progress it has recorded since its founding. The organisers have described the event as a chance to celebrate the milestone together.
