The Ministry of Agriculture has officially launched a two-week nationwide farmer registration exercise, aimed at streamlining data for better service delivery to farmers across the country.
The exercise, which began yesterday, was launched by the Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul, and is now underway in all counties.
To mark the launch, Dr. Ronoh joined Cabinet Secretary for Water and Irrigation Eng. Eric Mugaa, and Garissa Governor, Nathif Jama during a Farmer’s Field Day in Garissa County. The event served as a platform to showcase innovations, resilience strategies, and agribusiness opportunities in arid and semi-arid regions.

As part of the initiative, Dr. Ronoh flagged off agripreneurs who will assist in the registration of farmers across Garissa County, an effort that will be replicated in other regions nationwide.
The PS emphasized the importance of this registration drive in ensuring targeted support, improved planning, and effective resource allocation for the agricultural sector.
He added that all farmers are encouraged to register within the two-week window to ensure they are captured in the national database.
