The Sacco’s big dream of being a leading provider of sustainable financial services, with a task to transform members’ lives through resource mobilization and provision of competitive, innovative financial solutions under its slogan Together We Prosper, reflects the co-operative spirit which resonated with this year’s Ushirika Day theme Building Bridges: Cooperative Contributions for a Peaceful World.

For years, students at Lunga-Lunga Secondary School in Kwale County struggled with water scarcity. That burden was eased after Hazina Sacco stepped in with the donation of three 10,000-litre water tanks worth over Ksh400, 000 to boost access to clean and reliable water in an area greatly affected by drought.

The water tanks now play a big role in the school since it help in harvesting and storage of water for future use, hence mitigating the challenges of water shortage. “This is not just about providing water, but about empowering communities to grow,” said Hazina Sacco National Chairman, Evans Kibagendi.
