The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has stepped up efforts to strengthen supply chain efficiency through practical training on modern warehousing, inventory and logistics management.

KAM conducted a Gemba-based training at Mitchell Cotts Group Ltd, a warehousing and logistics facility based at JKIA, giving participants an opportunity to learn directly from real-world operations.

The training covered lean warehousing, material flow, quality assurance, traceability, key performance indicators, automation, artificial intelligence readiness and 5S, with a focus on improving productivity, safety and operational efficiency.

Participants also undertook daily Gemba sessions across different warehouse operations, including coffee value addition, paperless warehousing, air cargo and cold room facilities.

KAM said the practical approach was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the application of modern warehousing practices, while helping businesses build more efficient, resilient and technology-ready supply chains.
