- KEPSA is seeking trainers to support circular economy skills among MSMEs
- The programme will cover waste value chains across several counties

The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) has issued a call for applications for four qualified Circular Economy Trainers to support MSMEs, communities and informal-sector actors across the country.
Delivered through the Tujenge Pamoja project and funded by the European Union, the recruitment targets trainers who can provide gender-responsive training in plastic waste, organic waste and textile waste value chains.
Successful applicants will deliver training using the approved Gender-Responsive Circular Economy Curriculum, which integrates gender and social inclusion considerations into both technical and practical content.
Each trainer will run 16 training sessions, at two sessions per assigned county, amounting to 80 contact hours delivered over 5-hour sessions. The training will run from October to December 2026, covering Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru, Machakos, Makueni, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties. Trainers will use practical, participatory methods throughout.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in environment, sustainability, waste management or a related field. KEPSA also expects demonstrated experience in training, facilitation or adult learning, alongside a strong understanding of circular economy principles and gender-responsive approaches.

Beyond academic qualifications, candidates should have experience delivering practical training to MSMEs, communities or informal-sector actors. Skills in participatory, experiential and problem-based learning methods will count in candidates’ favour, as will experience with pre- and post-training assessments and excellent communication and facilitation skills.
Added advantages
KEPSA says candidates with direct experience in circular economy programming or enterprise development will have an edge. Similarly, prior work in plastic waste, organic waste or textile waste sectors, or with informal-sector actors, waste workers or community enterprises, will strengthen an application.
Experience in circular business models, recycling, upcycling or waste-to-value approaches also counts as an advantage, as does the ability to develop gender-responsive training materials and tools.
