Frustrations from banks have forced Kisii County contractors to form a saving and credit society.
This is to help the 100 members to access money at reasonable interest rate.
Most contractors have their equipment confiscated due to unpaid loans. Kisii County Contractors Association chairman Ken Mariera said they have problems with banks because of failure by the county government to pay them.
Mariera said most of the members have completed their projects but are yet to be paid by county governments forcing them to default in loan repayment.
“We urge the county government to facilitate payment of projects completed to save us from penalties from banks,” Mariera said.
