Local financial and technology firm Apptivate Africa scooped best Digital Feeding programme in recently concluded Fin Awards 2019.
The award recognizes innovative and disruptive FinTech companies across the continent.
The firm was honoured for making a simple solution to solve major corporate and social challenges for employers, dubbed M-Kula, which use digital meal vouchers.
Speaking during the event, Fin Awards 2019 head Calvin Jodisi hailed M-Kula for simplifying food uptake at work places, saving time, promoting quality, improving work productivity, enhancing accountability and cutting costs.
‘’This is an annual event that aims to recognise, celebrate and award exemplary players making great contributions towards the growth and development of Kenya by easing financial accessibility,’’ Jodisi said.
M-Kula is completely digital voucher that gives employers the opportunity to feed their teams without having to set up a canteen or deal with an outsourced caterer.
It is easy to use, and makes employee feeding transparent and efficient. It also ensures that employees have money for lunch throughout the month and that they use their lunch money specifically for food.
Apptivate Africa Corporate Relations Manager Irene Kioko dedicated the award to more than 300 food joints signed up on M-Kula, clients and food lovers in the region.
“We have always taken a user-focused approach in building disruptive solutions for Africa. It was great to see out efforts recognized at such a prestigious stage,” Kioko said.
The company also runs M-tuza, a multi-store digital voucher that can be redeemed at over 200 locations.
