Women groups under various Community Based Organizations in Machakos County have received water tanks in a programme spearheaded by the National Government Affirmative Acton Fund (NGAAF).
The CBOs, which had contributed half of the required amount to purchase 5,000 and 10,000 liter water tanks, were handed the tanks by Machakos County Woman Rep Joyce Kamene.
Kamene said her office was working in collaboration with the office of the governor in order to ensure that beneficiaries of the water tanks, who reside close to boreholes, have the tanks connected to water source through piping.
