Nearly 50 cooperative finance professionals from 12 countries have completed the African Development Educators (ADE) Programme in Kilifi, Kenya, as the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) continues to strengthen professional capacity across the global Sacco movement.
The seven-day programme, held in August 2026, brought together participants from Saccos, credit unions and cooperative financial institutions across Africa, Europe and the United States.

According to ACCOSCA, the latest cohort was exposed to the cooperative business model and its potential to address development challenges while advancing financial inclusion and inclusive economic growth.
The programme forms part of ACCOSCA’s long-running effort to build a more professional and well-governed cooperative movement, with the organisation positioning Saccos as key drivers of financial inclusion and shared prosperity.
The 30th ADE class was held in Kilifi, with applications for the 2027 ADE classes set to open from September 1 to October 30, 2026.
