Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has urged the youths to go for the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) funds whose disbursement will be officiated by President William Ruto in Machakos on Thursday.
Governor Wavinya who spoke as she launched thirteen brand new road grading equipment in Mutituni under the ‘Barabara Mashinani ‘ program said nobody was opposed to development contrary to the narrative advanced by some leaders.
“Let our youth go for Nyota empowerment funds so that our economy can grow. Nobody is opposed to development. We are not fools we are cooperating with the National government because they have 85 per cent of the budget,” said Governor Wavinya.

Governor Wavinya also launched the upgrading of roads around Mutituni market serving about 20 public utilities including schools.
“Improved roads mean students getting to school faster, mother getting to hospital safely and farmers getting their products to the market on time. Roads are the veins for economic development,” she said.
Roads and Transport County Executive Member Nathaniel Nganga said no other County in Kenya had procured 13 road grading equipment since 2022.
