Best Rock Sacco, a potential market leader- Mwinzi

Kitui County Trade, Industry, ICT and Cooperatives Development Minister, Jonna Mwinzi (pictured) has lauded Kitui-based Best Rock Savings and Credit Cooperative Society saying it has the potential to become a major market leader.
Mwinzi who was the chief guest said with the trend at which the Sacco is growing will soon be the top performing Sacco not only in Kitui County but also in Kenya.
The Sacco has hit the KSh10 million mark required by the Savings Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) to operate Front Office Services.
Speaking to members during the society’s fifth Annual General Meeting held at the Kitui British American Tobacco (BAT) Grounds, the chairman, Francis Muli Kithae said the Mwingi branch has to-date recruited over 100 members and granted some 12 members loans totaling KSh1.3 million.
“During the year under review, the society opened a new branch in Mwingi Town and is planning to launch a satellite office in Mutomo District,” Kithae said
Speaking at the same function, the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited Marketing Executive, Lydia Njiru, applauded Best Rock Sacco for their exemplary leadership. “Saccos in the country are growing even faster than banks in the country,” the unionist said.
The function was also addressed by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Kitui County Chairman, Duncan Kisilu Singi and Lower Yatta District Cooperatives Officer, Leonard Juma Syengo among others.
