Credit Bank has committed KSh1 billion in 2026 to support micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs) through financing and transaction banking solutions, in a bid to spur business growth and job creation across Kenya.
The lender said the funds will be directed to businesses across diverse sectors, providing access to trade finance, working capital, asset financing, and payment solutions. The initiative comes as SMEs continue to face challenges in accessing affordable credit needed to expand operations, manage cash flow, and adapt to shifting market conditions.
Already, the financing programme has supported enterprises in healthcare and retail. One notable beneficiary is Xana Kenya, a healthcare company that integrates pharmacies, supermarkets, and wholesale outlets. With Credit Bank’s backing, the firm has expanded into several counties and opened new facilities.
As part of its growth strategy, Credit Bank has also invested in physical expansion, establishing a flagship branch in Syokimau along Mombasa Road and recently opening another in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

The bank plans to scale its branch network to 12 outlets by the end of 2026, 52 branches by 2027, and eventually 400 service locations nationwide. Officials say the expansion will increase access to banking services while supporting employment creation.
Kenya’s MSME sector remains a cornerstone of the economy, accounting for a significant share of employment and enterprise activity. Financial institutions are increasingly shifting their focus toward small businesses to drive economic growth and financial inclusion.
Credit Bank emphasized that it will continue investing in tailored products and digital solutions for SMEs, noting that demand for business financing and technology‑driven banking services is rising rapidly across the country.
