Defence Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (Sacco) has visited United Nations DT Sacco for a benchmarking session on operations and member services.
Defence Sacco’s delegation was led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Brigadier Paul Muhori. During the visit, they were hosted by UN Sacco CEO CPA Esther Mailu.
The engagement gave the two Saccos an opportunity to share operational experiences, insights and practices across different areas of their businesses. Member service emerged as a key focus.
Benchmarking visits have become an important way for Saccos to learn from institutions facing similar operational demands. This is particularly true as they seek to improve efficiency and the quality of services offered to members.

Furthermore, the engagement points to the growing role of peer learning within Kenya’s cooperative movement. It allows Saccos to exchange practical approaches rather than operating in isolation.
Going forward, the two institutions are expected to draw from the lessons shared during the engagement. They will use them to strengthen their operations and member services.
