Farmers from Eldama Ravine and surrounding areas yesterday benefited from a training and empowerment programme at ATC Lembus Perkerra aimed at strengthening agriculture and improving livelihoods.
The event brought together Principal Secretaries Dr. Chris Kiptoo, Treasury, Dr. Kiprono Rono, Agriculture, and John Kipchumba Tanui, ICT alongside Gideon Kimaiyo ‘Sonko’, who engaged farmers on modern farming practices and productivity through the host of Governor Benjamin Cheboi and his Deputy Eng. Felix Kipngok.

Farmers also received avocado and coffee seedlings to promote crop diversification and boost household incomes.
The programme was supported by CEC for Agriculture Risper Chepkonga and Chief Officer for Agriculture Dr. Milkah Toromo, who interacted with farmers and helped ensure the initiative’s success.
Leaders emphasized the need to strengthen agriculture as the backbone of Kenya’s stable economy while enhancing food security and economic growth.
