Housing Director urges Kenyans to support affordable Govt’s housing programme

National Housing Corporation (NHC) Director Joshua Nyamori has asked Kenyans to support the Affordable Housing Programme aimed at providing affordable housing.

The Director, who is also a Lawyer, said that the programme aims to ensure low-income earners have access to decent housing.

Nyamori, who was speaking in Kisumu during a housing exhibition, he observed that the private sector was doing its best to provide houses but the demand was still high.

He said that the scheme is pocket-friendly and will cater for all Kenyans and will be categorized into; social, affordable and market rates.

The Social housing rate will be between Ksh1,000 and Ksh5,000 per month; Affordable housing will cost between Ksh5,000 and Ksh10,000 per month; while the third category will bee a mortgage.
