Improve service delivery, appeals Garissa Co-op boss

By Amoto Dennis.

Garissa County Co-operative Commissioner, Daniel Mutiso has urged the Cooperative societies to observe regulations governing their operations to improve service delivery.
Speaking to Sacco Review in his office in Garissa town, Mutiso said lack of good governance in most Saccos had led to poor service delivery.
“CEOs and Board members should identify and analyse impediments to good service delivery and remove them. Most Saccos haven’t designed appropriate governance frameworks for their societies which expose them to undue competition from other micro finances,” he noted.
“Saccos mismanagement especially during the past years has posed challenges in delivery of services to members,” he noted. ‘Well managed Saccos can borrow funds and repay them without a problem,’’ he said.
