Kakamega County Assembly allocates Ksh600M to renovate, maintain roads

The Kakamega County Assembly has allocated Ksh600 million to be used for road renovations and maintenance in the 2023/2024 financial year.

Speaking during a public participation exercise, Finance Committee Chairperson MCA Bonface Osanga said that the county had sorted pending bills regarding the renovation of roads, the Bukhungu Stadium and a number of Level 5 hospitals.

Osanga said that they have now embarked on fencing the Kakamega Forest estimated to cost Ksh100 million and called on the private sector to support the project.

The Assembly Majority Leader Philip Maina lauded members of the public for turning up in large numbers to voice their complaints and concerns.

He further noted that the county has allocated all MCAs Ksh20 million each for development projects.
