Kenya National Police DT SACCO boosts financial literacy through regional member training

The Kenya National Police DT SACCO embarked on regional top savers training seminars aimed at empowering its members on matters of financial literacy and economic empowerment and equipping them with valuable knowledge to enhance their financial well-being and investment decisions.

The programme began with the Coast and Nairobi Regions Top Savers Congress, held at Travellers Beach Hotel & Spa in Mombasa, followed by the North Eastern, Eastern and Central Regions Top Savers Congress at Maanzoni Lodge. It concluded with the Rift Valley, Western and Nyanza Regions Top Savers Congress at Eka Hotel in Eldoret.

Throughout the seminars, members received training on financial literacy, investment opportunities, savings culture and co-operative development, while also networking with fellow investors and industry leaders.

Beyond member education, the Kenya National Police DT SACCO also recently handed over and commissioned one of its Mega Corporate Social Initiative (CSI) projects, a modern saluting dais to the National Police College Embakasi ‘B’ Campus

The newly constructed facility, funded by the Kenya National Police DT SACCO, is expected to serve as a central platform for official parades, recruit pass-outs, graduations and other national police ceremonies.

This was followed by a series of CSI activities in the SACCO,  notably supporting and standing with the National Police Service (NPS) as a partner during the just concluded 14th Edition of the NPS Track and Field Championships held at Ulinzi Sports Complex on May 29, 2026, an event that was graced by the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Mr. Eliud Kipkoech Lagat., CBS, EBS, OGW, HSC, SS, ndc (K) and National Chairman Mr. David Sohelo Mategwa, OGW, HSC, DSA, ICUDE.

This was closely followed by a donation of hockey kits and equipment the SACCO made to the Kenya Police Hockey Team as part of the SACCO’s continued commitment to community engagement and sports development.

The presentation was led by the National Chairman Mr. David Sohelo Mategwa, OGW, HSC, DSA, ICUDE, together with General Manager Finance and Banking Moses O. Manyuanda, MBA, CPA (K), and was received by Hockey Team Manager Ezra Onyango.

The SACCO also extended its support to officers at the General Service Unit (GSU) Fafi Camp in Garissa County on the same day through a special donation aimed at enhancing their welfare and comfort.

The presentation was led by Mr. Manyuanda, and received by Inspector Abdi, and it included a 43″ Smart TV, DSTV Set, 1.5KVA Hybrid Inverter, 200AH Solar Battery, and 590W Solar Panel.

Kenya National Police DT SACCO also took part in the recently concluded Co-operative Expo Nairobi Edition 2026 on May 29, 2026 at Uhuru Park, where it was honoured to host H.E. James Njoroge Muchiri, Deputy Governor of Nairobi City County, Dr. Anastasia Mutethya Nyalita, CEC for Business and Hustler Opportunities, Mr. George Mutiso Musembi, Chief Officer for Cooperatives, and Ms. Dolphine Aremo, Director of Co-operatives at its exhibition stand.
