- Kenya National Police DT Sacco has expanded its corporate social investment projects across education, healthcare, sports and disability support.
- The Sacco has sponsored school programmes, healthcare facilities, sports infrastructure and assistive technology for members living with disabilities.
- It has also reviewed loan terms and earned recognition for governance and performance during county Ushirika Day celebrations.
Kenya National Police DT Sacco has expanded its corporate social investment (CSI) portfolio this year, with new projects in education, healthcare, sports and disability support.
The Sacco sponsored Career Day at Utumishi Boys Academy. National Chairman Mr David Sohelo Mategwa, OGW, HSC, DSA, I-CUDE, Director Benjamin Talam, CEO Solomon Angutsa, MBS, and General Manager Operations and Strategy Simon Tanui, CPA, I-CUDE, joined the management team to guide students on careers and financial literacy. The day ended with a football match, which the Sacco staff team won against the Academy’s staff team. Cheetah House beat Tiger House to claim the students’ trophy.
The Sacco also runs a school sponsorship scheme for bright but needy children of deceased members. A number of beneficiaries have gone on to universities and secondary schools, while others have completed their studies.
The Sacco’s health programme has supported members living with disabilities. A blind member received a text to speech laptop, while another member diagnosed with maculopathy and bilateral blindness was given a printer.
The Sacco held a groundbreaking ceremony for a dispensary at the Kenya Police K-9 Unit Headquarters in Lang’ata. The project is fully financed by the Sacco and will support the welfare of police officers once complete. Commandant of the Kenya Police K-9 Unit, Mr Peter Mnyoto, CP, said the project would strengthen officers’ wellbeing and operational readiness. The Sacco has also sponsored a separate dispensary at the General Service Unit (GSU) Ruiru Camp.

The Sacco’s Board, management and staff have been involved in constructing a gymnasium at the National Police Service College (KPC) Main Campus in Kiganjo. The GSU Volleyball Team has received kits and equipment through the programme, alongside a new football pitch.
The Sacco has also funded the 5,000 seater Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi, which hosts Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League matches.
The Sacco has reviewed its loan products for members. It has extended the repayment period for some loans while adjusting the loan multiplier to 5 times BOSA deposits and 4 times for Muslim loans.
Members can also access services through a Sacco ATM card at fuel stations, supermarkets and VISA branded ATMs, both locally and overseas.
