The Kirubia Farmers’ Cooperative Society has shared its plans towards improving the quality of coffee production, farmers’ timely compensation, and the factory upgrade through the newly elected management.
Chairperson Alfan Gitari Njeru, speaking after the polls, said the new leaders will work closely with members to address long‑standing challenges and ensure the cooperative regains its footing. He emphasized that the administration is committed to rebuilding trust and enhancing service delivery.
The Vice Chairperson Nyaga Kainga urged farmers to supply their produce to the factory, as operation and compensation guaranteed after several complaints filed by farmers could not be solved by the previous leadership in position.
“The leadership at Kirubia has changed; therefore, we expect an improved service and compensation to farmers and urge them to bring their produce for collaborative growth,” Nyaga noted.

He further stated that the new leadership will expose farmers to current farming trends adopted by other coffee farmers, and management will undergo training to improve leadership for quality service delivery.
“We project Kirubia as a benchmark to other farmers in the near future as we focus on our management,” he said.
Nyaga has also requested the government to aid in the improvement of the factory’s infrastructure to match the modern environment, where less water will be used for improved quality products during coffee processing.
He consequently encouraged farmers to increase their effort in the venture for both economic gain and food security of the country while working on the quality of the produce to sustain the competitive market.
“We shall work together as one team to restore society and improve the livelihoods of our farmers,” he added.
Treasurer Joe Gitonga asked the government to aid fertilizer distribution and subsidy to coffee farming in the country.
