Launching the report, Principal Secretary (PS) in the State Department for Cooperatives Patrick Kilemi lauded the Sacco for embedding sustainability into its operations, saying the approach would strengthen institutional resilience while creating value for members.

“Sustainability is a strategic imperative. As a Board, we remain committed to embedding environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sound governance in our decision-making while creating long-term value for our members,” said Gachari.
CEO Kenneth Odhiambo said the report reflects the Society’s shift from policy commitments to practical implementation, adding that sustainability reporting had become an important driver of innovation and accountability.
“This report reflects a year in which sustainability moved from intention to operation. We view sustainability reporting not merely as a compliance requirement but as a strategic tool for driving innovation, accountability, and long-term growth,” said Odhiambo.
The launch marks a significant step in the Sacco’s efforts to institutionalise ESG practices, with the report expected to guide future sustainability initiatives while enhancing accountability to members, regulators and other stakeholders.
