Public Investments and Asset Management Principal Secretary Cyrill Odede has called on young people in Migori to register their Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) with the Electronic Government Procurement System (E-GPS) to qualify for county and national government tenders.
Speaking during the launch of the Migori County Young Professionals (MCYP) group at Migori Teachers Training College, Odede stressed that registration is key to benefiting from the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) policy, which reserves 30 per cent of public contracts for youth, women, and persons with disabilities.

“In every state department and government agency, 30 per cent of procurement is set aside for youth, women, and persons with disabilities,” he said, urging participants to take advantage of the opportunity.
Odede encouraged members of the MCYP to share information about E-GPS with their peers to increase youth participation in government procurement processes. He noted that many young people remain unaware of how to access tenders and warned against relying on unofficial sources for guidance.
