The State department for livestock development and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (KNCCI) have come together to boost Kenya’s dairy and beef exports.
Speaking during the delegation led by KNCCI President Dr. Erick Rutto, CS Mutahi Kagwe said that KNCCI is a key partner in linking Kenyan producers to global markets and investors.
He noted that Kenya is shifting from volume to quality in dairy, targeting value-added exports like butter, cheese and milk powder.
The CS also called for affordable agricultural financing under 10% interest to make livestock and dairy enterprises viable, and announced the revival of the Agriculture Sector Working Group to align policy and private sector efforts.

The meeting further highlighted Kenya’s major beef export deal with China under Origin Prime Kenyan, a 25-year, Ksh26 Billion contract set to create 135,000 jobs and modernize the Kenya Meat Commission with a Ksh 2 Billion upgrade.
PS Jonathan Mueke noted that Kenya produces 5.4 Billion litres of milk annually and must now focus on exports as domestic consumption nears capacity.
Both sides agreed to a practical partnership, to drive investment, raise standards, and position Kenya as a regional powerhouse in dairy and beef exports.
