Venture into business, Marakwet youth urged


Cabinet Secretary Public Service, Youth
and Gender Affairs, Sicily Kariuki has
urged youth in Kerio Valley to embrace
peace to effectively benefit from the Government
initiated Youth Empowerment Programme
(YEP) project.
Mrs Kariuki, speaking at Kolowa Bridge
in Kerio Valley recently while launching National
Youth Service (NYS) Youth Empowerment
Program aimed at constructing roads that
would link the three constituencies of Marakwet
East, Marakwet West and Tiaty which is
seen to foster business and Cooperative sector
in the areas said the programme will only be
possible if peace and calmness existed in Kerio
Valley. She asked the 2,700 youth participating
in the project to be role models and change
agents in Kerio Valley, saying that they should
save and invest in business for own sustainability.
