Women groups in Kangundo receive empowerment funds from National government

Several women groups in Kangundo Constituency, have received empowerment funds from the national government.

The fund was set aside by Deputy President Prof Kithure  Kindiki  to help women groups to assist them for starting or expanding their businesses to uplift their financial status.

Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule his personal assistant John Kituk who was issuing cheques to women groups yesterday, told the beneficiaries to invest the money wisely so that they can succeed in business and in life.

He said the area MP Fabian Kyule has been encouraging women in the region to form groups and register companies in order to benefit from government tenders and other opportunities.

Kituku added that the remaining groups will get their cheques before end of this month.

“Do not sit at home doing nothing get in group and register yourself in groups so that you can get assistance from government because it is difficult to get assisted as individuals,” he added.

Kituku encouraged the women to wake up and effectively engage in wealthy creation.

He called on local residents to invest in the region instead of other sub-counties so to promote the constituency’s economic development.
