The County Government of Kericho has promised to cut red tapes and accelerate business approvals in an effort to woe investors and stir economic growth.
Kericho Governor Dr. Erick Mutai said they had had set a new business compass which will guide its policies and projects.
“At the heart of this vision is our unwavering commitment to investors: we will cut red tape, we will accelerate approvals, we will protect your investments, and we will honor every agreement we make.” He said.
He was addressing participants during this year’s Enterprise and Investment Conference, at Kiprugut Chumo Green Stadium, which had its theme as, “Unlocking Green Prospect through strategic Investment,”
Dr. Mutai declared that Kericho was open for business, and the County was ready for bold partnerships, and that they are determined to build a sustainable and prosperous future for all who choose to invest.

“We gather at the heart of the South Rift for a defining moment the inaugural Kericho Enterprise and Investment Summit. This is not merely another conference; it is a statement to Kenya, to Africa, and to the world that Kericho is no longer content to whisper its potential. Today, we speak with one voice, “ he declared.
Alongside these projects, Dr. Mutai disclosed that the county is building an eight-hundred-acre Kericho Green City, a new urban and industrial center designed to attract global investors in manufacturing, ICT, renewable energy, and housing.
“By the year 2030, this Green City is projected to host over one hundred thousand residents, generate fifty thousand direct and indirect jobs, and inject over twenty billion shillings annually into our economy,” he added.
The Chief Guest, the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry, Lee Kinyanjui congratulated the local leadership for their show of unity which he says was a catalyzed for development. He said the government working together with the Council of Governors is working towards eliminating a myriad of inter county tariffs that had turned out to be a big hindrance to inter county trading.

He urged locals to venture in value addition of the cash crops like tea, coffee and maize if they want to encounter impactive prosperity
The CS agreed that the operationalization of Kerenga Airstrip will give investors direct cargo and passenger access to local and international markets.
Senator Aron Cheruiyot told local small scale tea farmers to embrace diversification which he said will cushion them during harsh weather and economic conditions. He welcomed investors to the county saying the environment was very conducive.
