Agricultural sector mourns Aak-Grow/CropLife Kenya CEO Eric Kimunguyi

The agricultural fraternity in Kenya is mourning the sudden death of Eric Kimunguyi, the Chief Executive Officer of Aaak-Grow/CropLife Kenya, who passed away after a short illness.

Industry leaders have paid glowing tribute to Kimunguyi, praising his leadership, integrity, and unwavering dedication to promoting sustainable and science-driven agriculture across the country.

In a statement, Aak-Grow/CropLife Kenya Chairperson Wachira Mureithi described Kimunguyi as a devoted leader and passionate advocate for sustainable farming. He noted that Kimunguyi’s contributions had left “an indelible mark” on Kenya’s agricultural sector.

From the broader agribusiness community, Agriculture Sector Network (ASNET) Chair Bimal Kantaria hailed Kimunguyi as our stalwart in the agrochemicals industry for many years and very well respected in government and the private sector.

National Potato Council of Kenya CEO, Wachira Kaguongo, also joined in paying tribute, describing Kimunguyi as an exemplary leader whose commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural practices will remain a lasting legacy.

The late championed the judicious use of pesticides and strongly called for a professional, science-based voice on the highly emotive issue of pesticides.

Journalists mourned him as an exceptional resource to them, he was available to provide crucial information when it comes to the agriculture sector .

Kimunguyi’s passing leaves a significant gap in the agricultural industry, where he was widely regarded as a transformative leader and a tireless champion for farmers and agribusiness stakeholders.
